Your website is very encouraging. I have a 114 as well and am just getting into astrophotography. So this site is great. It's very encouraging. Thank you for a wonderful job! Maybe I can contribute someday.

Hey Joel,

I just wanted to share something with you. Coming across your website has encouraged me to pull out my old equipment and start the sky gazing process again. Here's one of my first attempts: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27815293@N02/3206052223/. This is the first successful imaging attempt I have ever had with M42; most of my shots before were limited to planetary stuff: Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, etc... So, I just wanted to say thanks. I didn't believe that my 114mm scope was capable of taking a picture like that.

Thanks for the info on collimating my telescope. I have a 10" Dobsonian mounted Newtonian and have been intimidated as hell, knowing I have to remove my main mirror and clean it. (It's MUCH more dirty than I can stand due to a few years of non-use.) Now I can go forward, armed with the knowledge and confidence to get it back in shape. THANKS AGAIN!!! LCH
